A standard cheap DVD player can store about 8.5 GB of information on a double layer DVD disc. The HD DVD player can hold up to 30 GB on a Dual Layer HD disc, while the Blu-ray player (we offer attractive prices on good and cheap Blu-Ray Deals) stores 50 GB on a Dual Layer Blu-ray disc. Optical format can even offer a greater capacities in terms of storage size. For your information, a standard length movie play from a cheap and good Blue-Ray high-definition type, consumes about 15 GB in storage space.

Do take note that  Blu-ray DVD movie and Blu-ray formatted discs will not play on HD DVD players, and visa-versa. You can buy a "combo" player that supports both Blu-ray and HD DVD but this can be more expensive.However, prices for combo players might now fall as time to goes by.
